About this event

  • 3 hours

In the past few years there have been improvements in composite and adhesion technologies. These new technologies enable clinicians to place the majority of their direct composites with a simplified bonding and composite technique. These techniques will be presented, demonstrated and practiced to restore a class-II and a class-IV restoration in this online workshop. A simplified adhesion technique of immediately sealing tooth structure and resin coating it to protect the adhesive, dentin and pulp will be demonstrated and practiced as well. A simplified, value-based, shade system will be presented and utilized for the anterior restoration.

• Simplified class-II composite technique with new universal composites

• How to dramatically increase dentin bonds and protect the pulp by immediately sealing and resin coating dentin prior to composite placement

• Simplified class-IV composite technique with value-based shade taking & new composite technology

• The proper preparations for class-IV restorations

Clinical Techniques:

Simplified Class-II with New Universal Composite & Advanced Adhesion Technique

A simplified technique will be discussed, demonstrated and then practiced with a new universal shade posterior composite. How to dramatically increase dentin bond strengths and protect the pulp with adhesives and flowable resin will be shown. This technique will also help the universal restorative composite blend better into adjacent tooth structure. The adhesive and resin coating technique can provide long-term protection to the pulp and should virtually eliminate post-op pain from posterior direct composite restorations.

Anterior Class-IV Restorations with a Wide Blending, Dual-Shade Composite:

Proper preparations for Class-IV restorations will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced. Simplifying Class-IV restorations begins with the proper preparations to enable the proper placement and blending of composites. Each participant will cut their own restorations at the direction of Dr Morgan.

A simplified clinical technique for challenging Class-IV restorations will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced. A VITA™ approved, value-based shade taking technique will be illustrated as well as a simplified placement protocol with a dual-shade, wide blending composite. This unique value-based shade technique simplifies color matching dramatically and uses less shades.

Clinicians will be shown how to cut proper preparations for Class-IV restorations & how to make a stint to improve adhesion, blending and final esthetic results.
