New Westminster’s Fibre Broadband Initiative:
The City of New Westminster has launched an initiative to develop an open access fibre optic broadband network to foster connectivity and business development in the community. New Westminster’s Mayor and Council endorsed the initiative on February 2, 2015.
The City’s fibre optic broadband initiative will see the installation of dark fibre to key business districts in New Westminster. The fibre network will be “open access”, allowing internet service providers to lease fibre strands from the City for connection and re-sale at competitive prices.
