The Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center (CBBIC) is a university-based incubator and accelerator. We provide business advice for entrepreneurs and support the creation of successful, sustainable Coastal Bend businesses at every stage of development. <p><strong><strong>Intellectual Property Workshop</strong></strong></p><p>The Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center (CBBIC) a department of the College of Business at Texas A&amp;M University – Corpus Christi, Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (IP Section), TALA (Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts), and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), invite you to this intellectual property (IP) educational event. Over the past four years, volunteer attorneys from the IP Section, in collaboration with the USPTO have conducted this IP Pro Bono Tour. The IP Pro Bono Tour is a state-wide program to provide educational workshops on how to protect the intellectual capital of small business owners, entrepreneurs, and inventors located in underserved communities throughout Texas. Join us on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm at the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center, 10201 S Padre Island Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78418.</p><p>Sessions will provide an overview and introduction to intellectual property law including: patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Additionally, breakout sessions will include concurrent tracks with subject matter experts for topics such as: software, mechanical/electrical inventions, consumer products and art/music. After the breakout sessions there will also be one-on-one consultations between IP lawyers and participants at no cost.</p><p><em><em>Light Breakfast &amp; Box Lunch will be provided</em></em></p>

<h3><strong><strong>Session 1 - Education</strong></strong></h3><p>Educational session designed to provide an overview and introduction to intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong><strong>Session 2 - Subject Matter</strong></strong></h3><p>Break-out session with four concurrent tasks:</p><ul><li>Software</li><li>Mechanical and Electrical Inventions</li><li>Consumer Products</li><li>Art/Music<br></li></ul><h3><strong><strong>Session 3 - One-on-One Consultations (Free of Charge!)</strong></strong></h3><p>Twenty minute consultations between lawyers and participants.</p>
