This is an amazing and amazingly diverse phenomenon of an event celebrating Queens-based literary artists. Our mission: to create something BIG for Queens!


All Ages Welcome.


$12 Early Bird Tickets include a $5 food/drink ticket up to 3 days before the event. Tickets go up to $15 after that via this page and at the door.

Lex Rozzi

Lex Rozzi is a Queens-based writer living in Astoria. She stepped into the spoken word poetry scene two years ago to share her art and has since immersed in its magnetic community. Lex uses poetry as a bridge to explore reality and imagined worlds, looking to nature, astrology, and mythology to inspire her writing. She draws from her experience working in tech juxtaposed with teaching yoga and mindfulness to explore themes of personal and collective healing as a gateway to freedom. Artists like Mary Oliver, Audre Lorde, Alok, and Cleo Wade influence Lex’s style, while connecting with other poets in New York and beyond serves as a vibrant source of learning, connection and inspiration.


emceedel

emceedel is a performing artist hailing from Astoria, Queens. An avid writer, he has over 15 years of writing experience. He was introduced to poetry in high school, and was inspired by the likes of Robert Frost, Maya Angelou, and Shakespeare. His work covers an array of topics, including, political satire, social commentary, romance, and absurdity. Since then, he has performed at several open mics, and competed in Spoken Word competitions. His first performance was at the Inspired Word. He recently released a spoken word album that titled Spoken Words. The album covers a sporadic number of topics. His first piece, titled “Corporate America” speaks to the struggles, millennial American face in the workplace. The album includes pieces that speak to spirituality, romance, and contemplation. He plans to continue finding his voice in spoken word and poetry. Utilizing the power of voice, to surface critical issues.


Reyla Angela

Reyla Angela is the author of the book “Burgundy Hearts.” She curated RA Open Mic, as a fundraiser to uplift community farms in her Woodside neighborhood. Her written works are influenced by the people she comes across. She takes everyday interactions and forms poems that teach valuable lessons. She is inspired by love, devotion, monumental moments and esoteric realities. You can find Reyla performing at open mics around the city and advocating for environmental justice.


Sandra Kitt

Sandra Kitt is a poet, both on the page and in spoken word. She fell in love with the art of poetry, specifically freeverse, at a very young age. Maya Angelou and Rupi Kaur are two of her biggest influences, but all poetic artwork inspires her. Her poetry topics vary from romance to self love, self growth to building confidence in others, and any personal life experience that touches her soul. She has been a Queens resident for the past 24 years, since she was a year old - from the busy streets of Jamaica to the vibrant beauty of Rosedale.


Alex Crowe

Alex Crowe is a spoken word/ slam poet originally born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn but has been residing in Woodhaven, Queens for the past 15 years. He performed his original pieces at his very first open mic for The Muse Exchange at Neir’s Tavern. A landmark where bar scenes were shot for the film Goodfellas. Since then he has taken his words to various open mics around the Bushwick, Williamsburg, Downtown Brooklyn, Astoria and Lower East Side Manhattan poetry scene. His main influences stems from Edgar Allan Poe and Theodore Roethke. In their writings is where he found his courage to write about the real life horror stories of everyday life and his own personal struggles prior to his journey into poetry. One of his personal favorite pieces titled “ The Haven” can be found in the June issue of “The Scene Life”. A monthly D.I.Y. Zine pressing company based in Long Island.
