Women In Comedy

Women in Comedy’s annual “Inside Jokes” conference is a hilarious and informative event for women seeking advice on building their career in comedy. The conference will include a speed networking session followed by a panel of professional comedians, producers, and writers from Chicago. Inside Jokes is by women and for women, but all are welcome.

Grace Perry-  Grace Perry is a Chicago-based writer and comedian. She’s a regular contributor to satire sites Reductress, the Onion, and McSweeney’s. You can also find her work on sites including Chicago Magazine, Curbed and Outside Magazine. More than anything, she wishes whales lived in Lake Michigan.

Sydney Davis- Sydey Davis is a stand-up comic and writer from Bentonville, Arkansas. Her stand-up special "Wasted (Potential)" became available on Amazon Prime in November of last year, and her album by the same name is available on iTunes. She is also the head writer and lead actress in "SQUID," a sitcom available on Amazon Prime in early July, 2018.

Mona Aburmisham- Mona is a performer and emcee, and produces comedy shows, competitions, and events in major clubs, theaters, and universities around the world. In addition to comedy, Mona is a sought-after speaker for her experience using stand-up comedy to bring joy and affinity in various socio-political topics in the United States and the Middle East.

Mishell Livio- Mishell first started performing with her father's mariachi band at the age of one. While sporadically working as an actress on TV and in Film in LA, she worked as a professional model but decided she liked eating and having an opinion, so she took the leap into stand-up and improv comedy. She landed a job as a morning radio co-host in 2013 at Rock 102.1 KFMA-FM in Tucson, Arizona with Fook. She then journeyed to Salt Lake City onto ALT 101.9 KHTB-FM and eventually ended up in Chicago on 101.1 WKQX-FM. Currently, she is the creator and executive director of the Hispanic Ensemble, Generation LatinX. You can see her performing comedy all over town with CSz Chicago, iO Chicago, Second City Theatricals, and Laugh Out Loud-Chicago just to name a few. Sonal Aggarwal- Sonal Aggarwal is a world-traveling performer. Raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, she left the country after college to travel the world. In March of 2015, while living in India as an artist and emcee, her life took a dramatic turn with a motorcycle accident that led her back to Chicago. During her rehabilitation, she realized that she was meant to do stand-up comedy. Now, her infectious energy is on stage all over Chicago and soon, the world.

Eunji Kim- Eunji Kim is currently a Writer for Cards Against Humanity and can be seen performing improv at iO Chicago and stand-up/solo sketch all over the city, including Zanies, Laugh Factory and The Lincoln Lodge. She was honored to be a 2017 NBC/Universal Bob Curry Fellow at Second City. She also co-hosts The Ajumma Podcast (@AjummaShow) with fellow comedian/Korean, Peter Kim (@Peterkz). CLAUDIA WALLACE- Claudia Wallace is Casting Director and Cast Consultant for The Second City, Resident Stages and Touring companies.  She is also an Artistic Consultant and sits on The Second City Executive Committee. For over 20 years, Claudia has worked in several capacities at The Second City.  She’s an alumna of the Touring Company and the Chicago Mainstage and works as an actress and facilitator for Second City Works, the Business-to-Business arm of The Second City. Claudia is also an accomplished actress who can be seen on TV, film and on stages across the country.
