<H2>Shaping Our Future -- Industrial Development Focus Group</H2>
The Upstate is projected to grow significantly in the next 15 years. Together, we can work to ensure that future growth enhances the things we love most about our region. We know that to find real solutions to our region’s most pressing problems, we need assistance and input from a diverse group of stakeholders – including the development community, local governments, transportation providers, elected officials, local agriculture representatives, utilities, and the public health and nonprofit sector. 
The Shaping Our Future Consortium – a partnership of Upstate Forever, Ten at the Top, and the Riley Institute at Furman University – respectfully requests that you participate in a focus group to inform a scenario and growth alternatives analysis for the Upstate region. The process is being guided by a diverse steering committee and will involve considering and debating alternative growth futures, along with their fiscal, environmental, infrastructure and quality of life trade-offs. Focus group meetings will be used to summarize and evaluate market forces, development policies, available infrastructure and political viewpoints in the Upstate Region, and gauge their influence for promoting preferred development types, locations, patterns or intensities in the future. 
This focus group will center on discussions around industrial development and other related business interests. This meeting will be one of three targeting economic development and business leaders, all of which will be used to gauge the influence of market conditions and business site selection criteria for making one area, or one type and style of development, more attractive to grow and develop compared to others in the Upstate region. The group will also discuss incentives or obstacles in place for promoting various development types, locations, patterns or intensities in the future.
