About this event

  • 13 days 14 hours

In 2025 Indiana Audubon will host the next in a series of great birding adventures, as we venture into the jigsaw of Peruvian Andes, with it’s deep, sliced canyons and micro-habitats fed by nearby Amazon moisture. The area is truly a treasure trove for both lovers of birds and landscapes. Recent upgrades in infrastructure and new lodges have opened recently in this region as a major birding destination that can be explored in relative comfort. Join us to explore not just owls, but some amazing other birds too!

As part of Indiana Audubon’s commitment to conservation in areas we visit, Indiana Audubon will donate towards a conservation initiative in northern Peru through the Mumford & Keller Grants and Scholarship Program.

Physical Requirements: Moderate. Peru is a mountainous country. Participants can expect one or two miles or more of hiking per day at a birding pace on rough terrain and elevation under 10,500 feet. Higher altitude birding is done at a slower pace.
