Come and enjoy an intimate concert in the settled vibe of the TM Centre. The Sarod accompanied by the Tabla, rendered by young internationally renowned artists from Kolkata: Diptesh Bhattacharya and Sanjib Kumar.

Diptesh, a renowned Sarodist. Won the hearts of discerning audience with his personal style, unique tonal quality as well as the “Khyal Gang Baaj” (playing like a vocal). Started training at the incredible age of three in Indian Classical Vocal under Mrs. Keya Bhattacharya and his mother Mrs. Bansari Bhattacharya. At the age of ten, he fell in love with the instrument Sarod and initiated his training under Pt. Alok Lahiri. He received intensive Taleem (training) from Pandit Kushal Das, one of the greatest world renowned Sitar maestro of Seni-Maihar Gharana of this era. He is also received Taleem (training) from Pandit Anindya Banerjee, world renowned Sarod maestro and one of the senior most disciples of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan sahib. Diptesh developed himself under the guidance of world renowned Sitar maestro Pandit Subroto Roy Chowdhury till his demise.Presently Diptesh is developing himself and taking advance training under the Guidance of Ustad Irfan Muhammad Khan, Doyen of Lucknow Sahajahanpur Gharana.

Sanjib, most known for his balanced and clear accompaniment. Educated from the age of seven by teachers of his home town, Nabadwip Dham, Shri. Sunil Karmakar and Shri. Hironmoy Biswas of the Ustad Keramatullah Khan style of the Farukhabad Gharana, Sanjib showed promise at early age at the youth festival, Nadia district. In 1988 he became a disciple of legendary tabla maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh. From Pandit Ghosh he learned intensively the art of tabla playing both as a solo performer and as an enrichment support to the main performer when accompanying. Sanjib toured 15 years extensively at home and abroad with Sitar maestro Pandit Subroto Roy Chowdhury.
