Incubator Lab 2026 VIRTUAL STREAM

The Rosin Box Project, San Diego’s premier contemporary ballet company, continues its 2026 season, PARALLAX: When Perspective Becomes Movement, with Incubator Lab, a program devoted to creation, experimentation, and the moment new work becomes performance.

As the second lens of the Parallax season, Incubator Lab invites audiences to look closely at the act of making. Where Empower opened the season through a prismatic burst of perspective and authorship, Incubator Lab turns the lens inward, magnifying the choreographic process and the artists shaping what comes next.

This virtual stream features the full performance program, filmed live at the Light Box Theater, with three new works by Bethany Green, Alexandra Schooling, and Natasha Rader. Each choreographer brings a distinct creative world to the stage: from dance theater and narrative imagination, to soft contemporary pointe work rooted in trust, to collaborative, otherworldly movement shaped through original sound design.

Together, these premieres reveal the many ways a dance can come into being: through instinct, structure, play, revision, risk, and discovery. Incubator Lab offers a rare glimpse into that creative arrival point, when weeks of exploration land in the body, meet the audience, and become fully alive on stage.

The virtual stream is ideal for audiences who cannot attend in person but still want to experience the completed performance program from TRBP’s 2026 season.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Bethany Green | Sticks and Stones

Bethany Green’s new work, Sticks and Stones, is a theatrical narrative ballet blending contemporary movement with eccentric character work and physical storytelling. Set to an accordion-driven score, the piece follows a whimsical cast of characters whose encounters unravel into a world of confusion, comedy, and chaos, joining dance theater with ballet movement language.

Natasha Rader | Guest Choreographer | Premiere

Natasha Rader’s new work is a tender exploration of trust, intimacy, and human connection. Rooted in pointe work yet shaped through a contemplative contemporary movement language, the piece moves between delicacy and vulnerability, creating a subtle world where support, surrender, and interdependence emerge through architectural partnering and nuanced physical expression.

Alexandra Schooling | Guest Choreographer | Premiere

Alexandra Schooling's new work emerges from a deeply collaborative creative process, shaped in close dialogue with the dancers and an original sound design by Chris Desien. Blending contemporary ballet with atmospheric, highly physical movement, the piece creates an otherworldly landscape that feels both futuristic and dystopian, unfolding like a fragmented transmission from a world just beyond our own.
