Join us online on Tue May 28 2024 as we celebrate and explore the rich history and contributions of Asian Americans in the United States. This event is part of our ongoing talk series dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion.

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month – a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. A rather broad term, Asian/Pacific encompasses all of the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia (New Guinea, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji and the Solomon Islands), Micronesia (Marianas, Guam, Wake Island, Palau, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru and the Federated States of Micronesia) and Polynesia (New Zealand, Hawaiian Islands, Rotuma, Midway Islands, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, French Polynesia and Easter Island).

We're fortunate to host Dr. Huiping Ling. Dr. Huping Ling, Professor Emerita of History; Former Visiting Research Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University; Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor, Chinese Ministry of Education; Distinguished Honorary Professor, Lishui University, Zhejiang, China; Adjunct Professor, Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies, Jinan University, Guangzhou; Founding Book Series Editor, Asian American Studies Today, Rutgers University Press; Editorial Board, Overseas Chinese History Studies, Beijing, China, among others.
