Be in touch with your creative self to live a happier, healthier life. Join Lauren Kingsland and Carrie Monger, of the Georgetown Lombardi Arts & Humanities Program, AHP, for a weekly time of mindfulness, a handwork project demo, plus music and a movement experience. Lauren’s project demo, often fiber art, uses simple, found materials and requires little or no prior expertise. Show & Tell of your work is welcome on the padlet or in class. Carrie creates original choreography to give us an embodied experience of the music of the week.
The Shape of Things - 6 weeks of creative play using geometric shapes - from the simple Square to the new Aperiodic Monotile, aka “ein stein” or “the hat”. These geometric gems are all around us - on the floor, on the quilt, in architecture, and everywhere. Using fabric or paper, we’ll cut, draw, sew, collage, embroider, glue or fuse to cover flat surfaces with repeated shapes. These geometric gems are all around us - on the floor, on the quilt, in architecture, and everywhere.
