About this event

  • 2 hours

It's a lazy wind today: Too lazy to go around you, it goes through you. Halfway through the dark, it's midwinter and yuletide approaches. Tales, riddles, folklore and more, as the winter wind blows through your bones.

WAIT! Part of award-winning storytellers Amy Douglas and Jason Buck's 'In Season' programme of events for the year, you could get a discounted or free ticket for this event and every monthly event, as well as other behind the scenes content and discounted goodies. Ages: Adult and families (12+)

Over the past twenty years, Amy has delved deep into the folklore of Britain, reveling in tales of the strange and macabre; memories of magic and otherworlds; proud recollections of folk history; stories to make you smile, sigh or shiver; stories that have been moulded by the land, weather and generations of tongues wagging.

"Jason Buck is a man made of myth, magic and mead. His stories are filled with adventure, his beard is full of unexpected twists and his tankard filled with a poet's brew. Sit around the fire and listen to his tales - you won't be disappointed." Abbie, West Sussex

How to watch live

You'll receive an email after buying a ticket, with the ability to log into your digital ticket for links to the Zoom session.

I will be online 15 at least minutes before the start of the show to help, where possible (but can't help after the event has started).

You may need to download and install the app Zoom Client for Meetings to participate, so best to do that ahead of time (compatible with most computers and phones etc.): https://zoom.us/download

How to watch at a later date

All ticket holders will get a private link to an unlisted YouTube video of the live show. If you are unable to attend the event, you can watch it later. Purchase a ticket as normal and you will be sent a private link to watch the show within 1 - 2 days of the live event.

Drawing on traditional favourites and introducing new ideas, Jason's stories are told in the oldest and best ways – as live performances, for modern audiences and he has performed across the UK and mainland Europe, blending traditional and contemporary motifs, vocal sound effects and pure, unadulterated fantasy.Jason has been a performer most of his adult life, including cabaret and comedy, but his passion lies in stories - ‘there's nothing like getting lost in a story, the pictures in your head are better than film’.Jason has written and published four collections of his own stories, won silver at the last ‘Grand Annual Lying Festival’ and 'Best Bard' at Profound Decisions' 'Theatre of Joy and Sorrow'. He is also a member of the Society for Storytelling, a skilled celebrant for weddings / handfasting, namings and funerals and a member of the UK Society of Celebrants.Jason now lives in Leamington Spa with his family: Partner Kim, son Oskar, and Percy the cat.
