This SMART Workshop is an interactive exploration of the many facets to understanding and providing care to persons with dementia. The focus is designed to empower the identified patient, caregivers and providers in understanding behaviors related to dementia, developing strategies for effective partnership, and learning to embrace the journey through artistic expression, mindfulness and compassion. Attendees can expect to hear some case study presentation coupled with new perspectives of understanding through written poetry and storytelling. The audience will be encouraged to think of their own experiences and if comfortable will be encouraged to share their thoughts to illicit shared support and discussion.

Parking is free and on the north side of St Alphonsus Reginal Medical Center. Enter the MAIN lobby located on the north side of the hospital. The Auditorium is off to the right as you enter the lobby.
