You’re Invited - Special In-Person Focus Groups to Provide Input on Next PPS Superintendent

Thank you for your interest in serving on a focus group to provide input on the next Superintendent for Pittsburgh Public Schools.  Our focus groups are now full.  No worries! You can still provide input! Please visit www.pghschools.org/superintendentsearch to complete a survey or for information about attending a community input session.

We want to hear what you have to say about Pittsburgh Public Schools and the search for the next permanent Superintendent. To that end, the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education invites you to participate in a special Focus Group meeting next week to help determine the leadership traits and qualities needed in the District’s next leader. During these small Focus Group meetings on May 11 and May 12, we want you to speak freely about the strengths, needs, and relevant issues of the District. The meetings are being led by BWP + Associates, the consulting firm that is heading up the national search. Insights gathered during these meetings will be aggregated and compiled anonymously to provide qualitative information that will aid in this important search process. To ensure that many community voices are heard, BWP is holding multiple Focus Group sessions; and we are inviting a cross-section of Pittsburgh community stakeholders to participate, including educators, parents and guardians, students, faith-based organizations, local foundations, corporate leaders, and other constituents. We are looking to recruit 200 people to participate in these Focus Group meetings; each hour-long meeting will be limited to no more than 20 people. The meetings will take place at the Pittsburgh Public Schools Administration Building located at 341 S. Bellefield Avenue in Oakland. Note: Very limited parking is available on a first-come first serve basis at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church parking lot at 419 S. Dithridge Street. Please join us for one of the in-person or virtual Focus Group meetings that best suits your schedule.
