About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours
  • Free venue parking

MAG collects, analyzes, and vizualizes data for our regional planning efforts. We post a lot of these data on our website for the public to access. We offer free workshops to help users get the most from these resources. Our instructors demonstrate how to use and customize the interactive maps and data dashboards while participants follow along on their own computers. There are even hands-on exercises to allow users to practice what they've learned.

Topics include population, housing, and other census demographics; employer, workforce, and economic data; early education statistics; land use and developments map; recreation and bikeways maps; long-term population and housing projections; and a sneak peak at our new offerings: the Sun Cloud megaregion data portal, and regional air quality data monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the free parking?

Park in the underground parking garage beneath our building (accessible from 1st Avenue) and bring your parking stub to the training for validation. Sorry, but we cannot validate for any other parking venue.

I registered for the in-person training but now need to attend virtually. How do I get the link?

Attendees must register online for the virtual format through Eventbrite in order to be sent a link to the training. Zoom links are personal to each registrant and cannot be shared by MAG. Registration is open until noon of the day of each training session.

I registered for the virtual training but find I can attend in person. Can I walk in?

Yes! All walk-ins are welcome. Just be aware that seating is limited (about 10 seats at the table available; gallery seats also available), and attendees should bring their own laptops.

Will the training be recorded?

The training might be recorded for internal purposes, but at this time a recording will not be made available for public viewing after the event. (This may change at some future date.)
