About this location

Join us for our first visit to Manito Park in Spokane, Washington. From the Algonquian word manitou, Manito Park is a sprawling 90-acre public park in Spokane’s South Hill filled with towering pine, exposed basalt, an arboretum, and botanical gardens. The nearby Duncan Garden  is a symmetrical formal 3-acre European garden with a large granite fountain, designed and built in 1913. The piano will be situated on the large grassy area east of Duncan Garden. Concert check-in opens at 5:00 pm, and the performance begins at 6:00 pm.

This event takes place on the ancestral and occupied homeland of the Spokane people.

Organized by

A nonprofit founded in 2016 by classical pianist Hunter Noack, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild™ is an outdoor concert series where America's most stunning landscapes replace the traditional concert hall. A 9-foot Steinway grand piano travels on a flatbed trailer to National Parks, urban greenspaces, working ranches, farms, and historical sites for classical music concerts that connect people with each landscape. To meet the acoustical challenges of performing in the wild, music is transmitted to concert-goers via wireless headphones. No longer confined to seats, audiences are able to explore the landscape, wander through secret glens, lie in sunny meadows, and roam old growth forests.
