Learn the basics of long-form improv. Students will cover scenework principles like "yes-and" and active listening. Over this six-week period, we'll build the groundwork for comedic improvised scenes that'll jumpstart your love of improv.
Classes every Saturdays, May 3rd to June 7th from 10am - 12:30pm.
The course will culminate in a student show on Saturday, June 14th at 3:30pm

PLEASE NOTE:
Students are required to attend 2 improv shows at Mettlesome during the course (students get into shows for free)
Students are allowed a maximum of 2 absences per course.

Joe Dawson
Joe's a scientist, writer, and comedian originally hailing from Columbia, Missouri. Find him after a show and he'll happily whip up some laugh chemicals and write you an essay about it. Joe started improvising during theater camps in elementary school, and continued practicing and performing in college as a founding member of Oberlin College’s Kid Business improv troupe. He has trained and performed with the Dirty South Improv teams Flashmob, Improv Slam, Public Frenemy, and DSI’s flagship team, Mister Diplomat.
