Have you ever heard something at work and thought that kind of sounds racist, but what should I do about it? You are not alone. It has never been more important for employers to address unconscious bias in their workforce. Studies show that doing so will improve productivity, aid staff mental health and positively impact organizational morale. Join us for a 3-week workshop, consisting of both individual and group work. We will define implicit bias and identify strategies to mitigate implicit bias in organizations.

During this training, you will:

  • Distinguish the difference between explicit and implicit bias and its impacts on organizations.
  • Identify strategies to intervene and address implicit bias in organizations,
  • Understand how the concept of race has been applied throughout history to create inequities that are maintained today. 

Implicit bias in the workplace is a unique and undiscussed part of operating in an increasingly integrated world. Not only does implicit and explicit bias affect employee retention and team collaboration, but the mental health of those in your organization who identify with the global majority. FACILITATORS

Robin LLewellyn is a Senior Consultant with the Consulting, Learning and Leadership team at Mission Capital. She is an experienced talent development and human resources professional with a background in leadership development and employee training. Robin is passionate about learning and helping people grow.

Robin holds a BFA from The University of Texas and an MFA from Florida State University. She utilizes her theater arts background to facilitate interactive training, focusing on learning through creative activities and fun. Robin has extensive experience with DISC, Emotional Intelligence, and Action Learning coaching. For the past six years at Mission Capital, Robin’s work has included leadership development, team dynamics, coaching and feedback, connections and strong communication, and conflict awareness and mitigation.

Prior to working at Mission Capital, Robin owned and operated RLL Consulting, a talent development and management consulting firm. She also served as Senior Director of Talent and Development at Goodwill Central Texas.

Hector Campos has delivered leadership and organizational effectiveness trainings and consulting to national, state, and local non-profits for over two decades. Throughout his career, he has promoted advanced and integrated social justice and an equity lens into all capacity building activities to ensure that public sector agencies equitably thrive and achieve their goals. He continues to do that important work at Mission Capital.

Most recently, Hector was the Training Director for a national nonprofit capacity-building organization that delivered trainings and consulting on strategic planning, leadership/management, individual and organizational development, effective communication, team building and diversity, equity, and inclusion to public health agencies.

He was also the CEO and Founder of Campos Training and Consulting Group. In that capacity, he managed a successful training and consulting firm implementing cost-effective staff development training and coaching that resulted in increased employee job satisfaction, team trust/communication and organizational effectiveness.
