Event description

Description

ARIA, when applied correctly, enables users of assistive technology to successfully access and use tabs, detect content and elements, know the state of expand/collapse elements, etc. But applied incorrectly, it can make accessing, detecting and interacting with elements difficult to impossible.

This 30-minute webinar explains how to implement items, such as tabs and expand/collapse elements following the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices, as well as some "do's" and "don'ts" of ARIA. Led by WeCo's Access Team, you'll hear first-hand on how ARIA impacts their own accessibility. You'll also learn lessons from the client interactions we've had regarding ARIA.

It is recommended that attendees have a basic computer literacy and a basic understanding of ARIA, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

TAKE AWAY: WeCo's ARIA Cheat Sheet e-document to remind you of key points discussed in the course.
