ABOUT THE IMPACT ALIGNMENT LAB

Turning Data into Meaningful Stories of Community Impact

Community organizations collect valuable information about their programs, services, and the people they serve. However, communicating what that information means and why it matters can be challenging.

Organizations may be able to describe what they did, how many people participated, or how many services were provided, but still struggle to explain the meaningful outcomes produced by their work.

The Impact Alignment Lab is an interactive, in-person learning experience designed to help community partners move beyond reporting activities and begin communicating the story behind their data.

Participants will explore practical approaches for connecting organizational activities to outcomes, identifying meaningful change, and communicating impact to different audiences.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPLORE

Participants will explore how to:

• Distinguish between activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact
• Identify the meaningful outcomes associated with their work
• Interpret organizational data within a broader community context
• Connect programs and services to intended outcomes
• Explain the story behind the numbers
• Communicate impact to leadership, boards, funders, partners, and community audiences
• Use data to support organizational learning and decision-making
• Identify a practical next step for applying the learning within their organization

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This workshop is designed for individuals representing:

• Nonprofit and community-based organizations
• Healthcare and behavioral health organizations
• Governmental and public-sector agencies
• Educational institutions
• Advocacy and grassroots organizations
• Faith-based organizations
• Community coalitions
• Tulsa County CHIP partner organizations

Organizations of all sizes and levels of evaluation experience are welcome. Participants do not need to be data analysts or evaluation professionals to benefit from the workshop.

WORKSHOP OUTCOME

Participants should leave with increased confidence, practical approaches, and an identified next step for using data to communicate impact and strengthen decision-making within their organizations.
