<h3><strong>The Imagine If Issues Assembly</strong> is a community policy solutions design event for neighbors, community groups, government officials, developers, and elected officials who are passionate about the opportunity to build community wealth, especially via real estate development. </h3><h2>Over a billion dollars of real estate developments are active or on the way to St. Louis City! Exciting right!?  </h2><h3><em><strong>Imagine If </strong></em><strong> </strong>these developments repaired generations of neglect and discrimination. <em><strong>Imagine If</strong></em>  we worked together to create a more just and equitable future. As efforts to revitalize historically disinvested communities in St. Louis City, MO and East St. Louis, IL begin, we don’t just have to Imagine If development was truly designed for us and by us—<strong>we can make it be for us and by us.  </strong></h3><p>As we celebrate new aldermanic leaders, new wards, it’s time to imagine a new set of solutions to truly build wealth for many and not a few. At this event, we will:</p><ul><li>learn about Community Benefits Agreements (CBA) as policy solution for equitable development</li><li>imagine additional solutions to create a St. Louis where everyone thrives</li><li>vote on the best way to structure a Community Benefits Agreement law for STL and that we can collaboratively champion in the months and years ahead </li></ul><p><strong><em>What is a CBA?</em></strong>  CBAs are binding contracts between developers and community members that ensure projects include benefits that improve the lives of residents, while giving developers the public support they need to bring their project to life. In this way, everyone wins—developers get the benefit of the community’s support and residents take an active role in the vision and development of their communities and build a bridge to a future of collective wealth building.</p>

<p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p><p><strong>The Community Wealth Action Group (</strong><a href="https://wepowerstl.org/community-wealth-action-group/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>CWAG</strong></a><strong>)</strong> is a coalition of 100+ St. Louis, MO and East St. Louis, IL community members, community organizations, and businesses with a common goal: to build communities where we can all thrive. </p><p>Together, we stand in our power to ensure that any conditions for new development across St. Louis, MO and East St. Louis, IL are negotiated by the community, for the community.
