Imagination Iowa (CoderDojo, Imagination Foundation, CS First)

Background and what to expect:
CoderDojo is a K-12 STEAM program that encourages creativity, fosters entrepreneurship, and helps kids learn to code.  
Our meetings are typically held at the Geonetric building in the New Bohemia District of Cedar Rapids. The address is 415 12th Ave SE. If our meeting location changes, you'll see that here. 
When we meet, on the 1st and 3rd Saturday each month from 1 pm to 3 pm, we set up a variety of stations based on the interest of attendees and the expertise of our mentors.  
Imagination Iowa has proudly offer this free camp for kids to learn to code since April 2014.  We typically offer 4-7 sessions that engage kids in experiential learning opportunities that focus on science and technology.  
Attendees are welcomed at 1 pm and everyone is given the details on what stations are available that day.  You can always expect several computer science options that range from Code.org's Hour of Code up to database development, web development, or custom projects to help kids learn a new skill.  We also have an Open Coding Club For Teens to help middle school high school aged attendees work on their own projects with assistance from our mentors.
Imagination Iowa is focused on giving kids a choice. They are encouraged to choose what they want to work on and our mentors will help them understand the core values of an entrepreneur and a computer scientist while holding true to the importance of encouraging creativity.
