About this event

Our mission for DRESSED is to give designers a unique opportunity to unleash their creativity while promoting the IIDA Georgia Chapter and our industry partners and manufactures at a runway extravaganza.

Teams have the opportunity to connect with the Atlanta Architecture and Design (A&D) industry in a creative and “out-of-the box” format, working together to create one-ofa-kind, wearable garments, made almost entirely from their sponsoring manufacturers’ products. As in years past, a portion of the ticket sales from the event are donated to charity.

Each team will re-master one famous piece of art from a pre-selected group of prominent artists. Expression to create a wearable garment influenced by the artists’ culture, time period, and art style forms to bridge the gap between art and fashion.

To align with the approach of never limiting an ‘artist at work,’ design teams will be encouraged to use creative freedom while partnering with sponsors -creating their own masterpieces.

History

IIDA was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD); the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID); and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). The goal of the merger was to create an international association with a united mission that would represent Interior Designers worldwide.
