Course Name: IHSS Career Pathways: Caregiver Basics #1029

Course Description: Caregiver Basics is a 2-hour training that is geared to individuals who are providing care to the older adult population. During this workshop participants will be able to recognize the signs of elder abuse and identify types and causes of such abuse. Learn about caregiver's mandated reporting requirements. Methods to circumvent elder abuse including self care and recognizing the importance of managing stress will be covered. In addition, learning effective communication techniques to handle challenging situations, responding to conflict and dealing with difficult people will be addressed.
