The sixth installment of our Townhall Series is a reschedule from a previously cancelled presentation on the importance of building and preserving communities that are inclusive of and accessible to all people. We will be joined by Tom Wheeler of the LGBTQ Real Estate Alliance and Trish Walker of Idaho Black Community Alliance for this important conversation on creating and protecting neighborhoods that are welcoming of and accessible to all demographics.

About The Presenters

Mckay Cunningham teaches courses in Constitutional Law, Property Law, Tort Law, and Cyber Law at the University of Idaho. His scholarly research and publications focus on cybersecurity, data privacy, and constitutional law. Before joining academia, Professor Cunningham clerked for Judge Joel F. Dubina on the Eleventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. He then practiced law for nine years, including four years at a law firm in Dallas, Texas and four years as a Staff Attorney on the Texas Supreme Court. Professor Cunningham has represented tech industry organizations in litigation and has been certified by IAPP as a data privacy professional. Professor Cunningham has testified before the Idaho Legislature on voting and constitutional law issues and provides commentary for local news and radio media.

Trish Walker is the CEO and founder of the Idaho Black Community Alliance, dedicated to empowering Idaho's Black community and the collective through advocacy, education, and cultural celebration. Under her leadership, the Alliance addresses systemic inequalities and provides vital support and resources, fostering unity and social change.

Trish believes that a united community is essential for progress. By creating platforms for dialogue and collaboration, she ensures that the voices of ALL Idaho's residents are heard and their needs met, promoting solidarity and collective action.

Tom Wheeler is co-owner of Idaho's #1 LGBTQ+ owned and operated real estate team, HomeFound Boise, Tom Wheeler has devoted his career to elevating professional standards of real estate professionals and advocating for equal housing for all. Past Idaho President and Founding member to the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance Idaho, educating and elevating the homeownership of underrepresented communities has always been the core to Tom’s business.
