About this event

If All the Sky Were Paper by Andrew Carroll is produced by Arroyo Repertory Theatre and directed by Dr.Jude Lucas. The production is funded in part by the Pasadena Communty Foundation.

NYT bestselling author Andrew Carroll collects letters. Their subject matter - the people engaged in and affected by war. IF ALL THE SKY WERE PAPER compiles these correspondences and asks us to examine how conflict shapes our humanity, and how we can learn from those who have endured before us.

Presented by the ARROYO REPERTORY THEATRE, with a grant from the Pasadena Community Foundation, this play, newly updated and expanded, presents real letters from conflicts ranging from the American Civil War through the Iraq/Afghanistan conflict. Sharing true stories from both sides of major conflicts, the production stresses the importance of hope in increasingly tumultuous times.

"...a theatrical piece [that] proves to be a most satisfying theatrical experience for audiences...quietly powerful."

    BroadwayWorld

"IF ALL THE SKY WERE PAPER says loudly what needs to be said. It explodes with humanity – humor, dread, pride, wisdom…. If war is hell, this show is a little slice of heaven."
