IDSM Workshop

Established in 2008, the award-winning Sustainability Program is a collaborative effort between the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership, the City of San Diego, andSan Diego Gas & Electric® (SDG&E). This collaboration is supported by an alliance of the Partnership’s members, Balboa Park stakeholders and sustainability experts. Together, we aim to establish Balboa Park as an exemplary model of sustainability and energy efficiency for museums and Parks around the globe.

Balboa Park Sustainability Program

Businesses are becoming more energy-savvy, integrating and taking advantage of both energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. Combining the two provides unique opportunities to harness multiple benefits. Integrated Demand Side Management (IDSM) and Integrated Distributed Energy Resources (IDER) are forward-thinking approaches to energy savings.
Learn about the basics of IDSM and IDER, then dive deeper into these topics through breakout sessions. Speakers will discuss resources available from SDG&E to pursue these types of projects and explain how these strategies will help overall green building performance and the San Diego community. By the end of the session, participants should understand IDSM and IDER, and be prepared to explore these solutions for their businesses.

Speakers at the workshop include:

- Lindsey Hawes, Center for Sustainable Energy, Senior Manager of Building Performance Programs
Lindsey will give an introduction to IDSM and IDER and discuss the current policy supporting the two energy management strategies.
<HR>
- Kimberly Ketron, SDG&E, Account Executive
Kim will discuss the resources currently available to businesses through SDG&E.
<HR>
- Marc Costa, Energy Coalition, Program Manager
Marc will elaborate on how the above information can help your building and your community.
 
**This workshop is FREE and open to the public. Lunch will be provided by the House of England. Seating is limited and registration is required.**
