Description/Overview:

Symptoms of vitamin deficiency include brittle hair and nails, mouth ulcers, hair loss, scaly skin patches, and more. Recognizing these signs can help you identify and treat these deficiencies. This educational activity will consider how vitamins affect health outcomes focusing on vitamins B, D, and iron. The clinical implications of the use of vitamins and the clinical management of patients who are diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia will be explored.


Objectives:

By the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain how vitamins affect healthcare outcomes.
  2. Summarize the clinical implications of vitamin B and D deficiencies.
  3. Relate clinical findings of iron deficiency anemia.
  4. Describe management pearls for iron deficiency anemia.
