Loom is an inter-media installation performance project illuminating the often-invisible labor involved to facilitate a technology-powered performance.
Join us Thursday, February 26th at the Qualcomm Institute, located in Atkinson Hall on UCSD campus. Performance begins at 5:00 PM.
Han Zhang is a sound artist, computer musician, performer and engineer based on earth. She actively works on creative projects that explore the new form of multimedia participatory performances with DIY installations that deliver immersive interactive experience and support her theatrical practice discussing the collective comprehension of technology, art, and substantive human lives. She has presented her works in various academic conferences including ICMC, ACM, Siggraph, NeurIPS, and etc. She has performed in venues including CNMAT(US), Qualcomm Institute(US), Future Stage NY(US), etc. She is a composer in residency at elektronmusikstudion(EMS) in Stockholm, Sweden, 2025.
Yifan Guo is a Chinese composer, performer, and intermedia artist who specializes in the innovative exploration of multidimensional music perception experiences, employing both sonic and non-sonic elements in performance. Embracing a range of compositional practices from music theater to acoustic music, electro-acoustic music, sound installation, performative installation, and other intermedia performance, Guo seeks to contribute to the innovative landscape of theatrical stage works.
About IDEAS:
The Initiative for Digital Exploration of Arts and Sciences aims to encourage interdisciplinary performing, visual, and literary-artists, as well as engineers and scientists, to take advantage of the Qualcomm Institute’s advanced audio-visual facilities, services and personnel in staging performances and presentations of new and experimental works and research.
