About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Learn about the different ice dye techniques to create your own unique and ethereal pieces during this two day workshop in June.

This event listing is for the afternoon session, 2pm-5pm on June 14th. The final class will take place on June 21, 12-3pm. By registering, you are signing up for both dates.

The details!
Day 1 - The technique
June 14 , 2pm-5pm

Each session includes a demonstration of the dye over ice (DOI) technique and sample results, with a review of color theory principles & fabric folding techniques.

Participants will then plan & dye 2 handmade 100% cotton bandanas, choosing their own color palette from a selection of fiber reactive dye colors.

Participants are welcome to bring 1 additional item of their own for dying; natural fibers are best for this type of dye.

Day 2 - The big reveal!
June 21, 12-3pm

Participants will wash out their works to reveal the final dye results. All participant's pieces will be washed & dried onsite in our machines using dyer & detergent to set the colors. During this time, we will analyze the results and participants will have the opportunity to ask Kate any questions they may have about the process and results. You'll leave day 2 with your final pieces washed, dried and ironed ready
