We welcome Virginia Tech's Institute for Creativity, Arts and Technology (ICAT) to Envelop SF for two days of spatial audio workshops and performances. The ICAT team will share research and developments that are helping to illuminate the bright future of 3D sound. This creative partnership between Envelop and ICAT exemplifies the spirit of collaboration, scalability, and creativity that non-proprietary spatial audio embodies.
This exchange consists of two different ticketed events- Oct 09, 2018 : Workshops and a Conversation 7pm Oct 10, 2018 : Performances  Doors: 7:00pm Show: 7:30pm
 Envelop SF is within The Midway at 900 Marin St, SF CA. Enter from the Michigan St side of the building, through the patio. Doors close 15 minutes after start time. All sales are final / no ticket exchanges. OCT 09, 2018 : WORKSHOPS AND CONVERSATION
Virginia Tech ICAT artists and researchers Ivica Ico Bukvic, Eric Lyon, and Tanner Upthegrove will present workshops on the following subjects:
-Upmixing to High-density Loudspeaker Arrays (HDLAs) -Spatial Sound Design -Spatial Audio Mastering -The D4 Spatialization Software
These workshops will be presented in Envelop SF, an immersive audio venue in San Francisco.  Following the workshops will be a community conversation on the future of 3D spatial sound technologies and emerging artistic practices in immersive audio. Audience members are encouraged to participate in this conversation.  OCT 10, 2018 : PERFORMANCES Virginia Tech ICAT artists and researchers Ivica Ico Bukvic, Eric Lyon, and Tanner Upthegrove will present a set of live, immersive music demonstrating spatialization techniques and software developed at Virginia Tech for use in the Cube, a 140-loudspeaker HDLA. The performances for this evening will be presented in the immersive audio venue of Envelop SF. Through <A HREF="http://www.envelop.us/venues" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Envelop venues</A>, powered by our software <A HREF="http://www.envelop.us/software" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Envelop for Live</A>, we host a diversity of events ranging from spatial music performances and listening events, to wellness and 3D audio education. With 32 or more speakers surrounding the audience, Envelop venues allow us to be within the music.
