About this event

  • 45 minutes

Tulsa Artist Fellow Adam Davis will host a lecture/photography demonstration titled, "Another Day Closer to History" courtesy of Next Steps in collaboration with Tulsa Community College. Davis' portrait practice has traveled around the country in an effort to build the largest collection of Black American and global Diasporic tintype portraits in contemporary art history. During the lecture, Davis will explore what archive building looks like, how Blackness renders behind the lens, and how the photography medium can possibly expand through the use of archaic/analog methods. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new at the I Can’t workshops held in-person and online on Saturdays. Free and open to the public.
