Hypnatwists

Chemeketa Concerts is pleased to present The Hypnatwists with members of the Salem Orchestra, a special collaborative performance.

Join The Hypnatwists, Salem’s own garage rock trio, for a unique night of music featuring a collaboration with members of the Salem Orchestra, combining the raw energy of a three-piece rock band with the live sound of an orchestra!

The evening begins with a 35-minute set of original music from The Hypnatwists, featuring Ruby on vocals and guitar, Tony on bass, and Zack on drums. The band was formed by a serendipitous encounter at a Hives concert in Portland and they bring with them a gritty DIY indie garage rock sound! Blending driving rhythms, catchy surf riffs, moving bass lines, and emotionally charged vocals across songs that shift between energetic bursts and introspective moments. The set will also include five brand-new, unreleased songs, giving audiences an early listen to their latest material.

After a short intermission, the stage opens up for something truly special: a second 35-minute set where The Hypnatwists will be joined by members of the Salem Orchestra, expanding the band’s sound with string arrangements. The groups have collaborated before on a couple of memorable performances, including the main stage at Salem’s Riverfront Amphitheatre during Make Music Day 2025.

Come experience an evening that celebrates Salem’s creative community, bringing together local musicians from two different worlds for a one-of-a-kind performance.
