Webinar Link for August 11th Live Presentation
^^ Link above will take you to the live webinar on the day of the event
As most of you are aware, ordinarily we take the summer months off from having meetings. However, given the circumstances and the vast knowledge our members are willing to share with all of us, we would like to continue educating our community on COVID-19 related topics through a few virtual presentations.
Please join for our third 1 hour, Virtual – Lunch and Learn (via Microsoft Teams) with expert Jim Newman to help you better prepare and protect your facility while reopening amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no limit on the number of attendees for this virtual presentation, so please feel free to share this invite/registration link with anyone interested (i.e. our friends at BOMA, SMSHE, ASPE, SMACNA, ESD, etc).
Please save the date below for the final COVID-19 presentation; a separate registration link will be sent out following this presentation.
Summer “Virtual” Presentations Sponsored by ASHRAE
- August 25 – 12-1pm: Advanced Room Air Distribution Strategies for Effective Airborne Infection Control presented by Chandra Sekhar
Meeting Topic:
The air conditioning system, as well as people and processes, contribute to space contamination. Proper design, and proper operating and maintenance procedures, can minimize IAQ problems while conserving energy, improving morale and contributing to higher productivity.
Air Handling Units (AHUs) are the nexus of power, performance and bio-load in buildings. Proper disinfecting, removal and/or controlling the growth and spread of biofilm can greatly reduce the microbial load. To keep air handling systems and the buildings they serve sanitary, we look to various air filtration, cleaning and disinfecting systems. The most common include HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) media filtration, GUV (Germicidal Ultra-Violet) purification and Bi-Polar Ionization (BPI). Each has pros and cons.
Employees and tenants must be aware of - and educated about - safety procedures and expectations. Swift, proper implementation of effective strategies will help people feel safer and more secure as we venture into the new, or “now” normal.
