About this event

  • 2 hours

Are you someone responsible for facilitating meetings?

Have you sat through a boring town hall and thought “there has to be a better way to invite public participation?”

At this free workshop, you will discover ways to design gatherings that are:

  • energizing instead of draining
  • inviting to a wide cross-section of people
  • spaces of curiosity and discovery
  • cooperative instead of combative
  • centers of belonging

Presented by Jeffrey L. Stec, author of the upcoming book
Humanizing Public Conversation: A Guide for Leaders

This event is also the launch of Weave St. Louis, a local chapter of Weave (weavers.org). Weave: The Social Fabric Project tackles the problem of broken social trust that has left Americans divided, lonely, and in social gridlock. Weave connects, supports, and invests in local leaders stepping up to weave a new, inclusive social fabric where they live. The project was founded by New York Times columnist and author David Brooks at the Aspen Institute.
