Human Rights Documentation Toolkit Launch Event

PILPG is a non-profit organization that operates as a globalpro bonolaw firm to provide free legal assistance to states and non-state actors involved in peace negotiations, post-conflict constitution drafting, and transitional justice.  To facilitate the utilization of this legal assistance, PILPG also provides policy formulation advice and training on matters related to conflict resolution.

Please join the Public International Law & Policy Group (PILPG), on behalf of the Human Rights Documentation (HRD) Toolkit Consortium, as we launch a new tool for human rights documenters.  
The HRD Toolkit is a multidisciplinary, interactive online portal providing human rights documenters with a searchable library of existing documentation resources and tools, best practices, and ongoing support from other documentation stakeholders.  This virtual toolkit addresses the need for a single compilation of resources and information to enable better coordination among documenters.  Over the past year, the Consortium created the HRD Toolkit from a desk study, questionnaire responses, in-country cluster meetings, expert roundtables, and peer review process.
The Consortium, led by PILPG, includes stakeholders with extensive experience working across multiple sectors in human rights documentation, including: the American Association for the Advancement of Science; the Humanitarian Law Center; the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience; OutRight Action International; Physicians for Human Rights; The SecDev Foundation; SecDev Cyber; the International Bar Association’s EyeWitness to Atrocities project; and Phuong Pham and Patrick Vinck of the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.  The HRD Toolkit project is supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor.
