Welcome to Minneapolis!

Come to Minneapolis, Minnesota - July 22-25, 2024 - for the 17th Annual Americas HTEC CNC Educator Conference hosted by Dunwoody College of Technology!


Start off the week off with HTEC Partner Workshops on Monday (9 am to 12 noon, Lunch, 1 pm to 4 pm) at Dunwoody College of Technology (buses will pick up and drop off at the conference hotels Monday-Wednesday). Registration is 8 am to 3 pm in the lobby at Dunwoody (continental breakfast served).


Monday evening join us in the Atrium at the DoubleTree Park Place (main conference hotel) for the Welcome Reception from 6-9 pm. Visit with colleagues and HTEC Partners. All Educators, Partners, Spouses and Guests are welcome.

Tuesday morning will start off in the Park Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel with a Networking Breakfast beginning at 7:30 am for announcements, highlights of the week and introductions. Then enjoy our Keynote Speaker, Mark Terryberry - Haas Tip of the Day. Next, buses will take everyone to Dunwoody for Educator-led Breakouts, Peer Group discussions and General Business meeting (including presentations by the 2025 Conference Host School - SWIC as well as presentations for the 2026 potential host schools. In the afternoon, buses will take you back to the conference hotels.

Tuesday evening we will walk a couple of blocks to Punch Bowl Social for the Educator Appreciation Dinner & Fun Event (6 pm to 9 pm) - including games (bowling, skeeball, 12-person foosball, darts, arcade, etc.), karaoke rooms and more! Open to Educators, Spouses and families, HTEC Partners and Industry Guests.

Wednesday morning we will head back to Dunwoody for a Continental Breakfast, and more training breakouts, peer group sessions, and collaboration. The afternoon will also include Lab Demos, Mill and Lathe Certifications (must sign up ahead of time - more details to come) and Project Sharing from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Buses will return to the conference hotels (approximately 5:30-6 pm).

Wednesday evening is a free night. Discover St. Louis Park with the many restaurants, bars and shops! Get together with colleagues and/or HTEC Partners for dinner and talk about what you are learning from the conference - enjoy the evening!

Thursday morning activities will be held in the Park Ballroom at the DoubleTree beginning with a Continental Breakfast, and include voting for the new 2024-2025 HTEC Member Council, another opportunity to meet with your Peer Groups, followed by the final business meeting to announce the new Member Council and location for the 2026 Annual Conference. Lastly we will have lunch and the much anticipated door prize drawings.

On Thursday afternoon, for those of you who are not rushing off to the airport there will be an option to tour a couple of local manufacturers. Meet in the lobby of the DoubleTree at 12:30 buses leaving at 1 pm, returning to the hotel approximately 4 pm. Pre-registration required - more details to come!


Spouse activities are in the planning stages for Tuesday and Wednesday with possibilities of shopping, a tour of local NordicWare (baking products) facility, Sip & Paint, Paisley Park tour and more. More details to come!


There are THREE hotels within 2 blocks of each other:

DoubleTree by Hilton Park Place (200 rooms Double-Queen/King blocked $159/night) – Main Conference Hotel (also location of Monday Night Reception, Tuesday morning opening remarks and breakfast, keynote Mark Terryberry, lite breakfast and half-day conference Thursday morning)

SpringHill Suites ($149/night 12 Double-Queen, 13 King) & TownePlace Suites ($144/night (25) Studio Suites, (5) Two-Bedroom Suites $239/night) by Marriott– Located across the street (about 2 blocks) from the DoubleTree

Blocks are good the shoulder weekends as well (July 20-28 – before and after)


Stay in town to enjoy more of the Twin Cities, or head home - it's up to you!
