Greetings, we want to invite you to dinner. HT- Homecoming Week is Feb 18-23. The Education Department wants to invite you to come Home and have dinner with some of our current education students. It will be held Thursday, Feb 21st , 6:00pm-8:00pm on the Huston-Tillotson campus. We will dine in the President’s Dining Room located in the Student Union. The President’s Dining Room has limited space so please order your tickets now.Come out to say hello to former Department Chairs, Drs. Judith Loredo and Ruth Kane.

Dinner ticket is $20.00 per ticket

Your gracious contribution will be noted in our Digital Education Spring Newsletter that will be disseminated to all our Department Alumni. All of the funds raised will go towards student certification exam preparation software, certification exam cost and emergency travel funds for our student teachers. Some of you can remember the challenges you had paying for the Texas Certification exams. Just like everything, the cost to become a teacher in Texas has increased. Huston-Tillotson University provides educational opportunities for a diverse multicultural community. Its history dates back to 1875 when Congregationalist worked with "freedmen" the descendants of slavery to establish a secondary school. The scondary school became Tillotson College Normal Institute.  Today our Educator Preparation Program continues to follow in the proud 142 year tradition of preparing individuals to become effective teachers working with culturally diverse students.
