Event Overview: This free, 2 hour interactive workshop, part of the Wakefield First Business Support Programme and delivered in partnership with Go4Growth and RTC North, is designed to help businesses in Wakefield of all sizes succeed in winning public sector contracts. The public sector spends over £300bn annually on goods and services, and this session aims to give you the tools and insights needed to successfully navigate the tender process.

Gillian Askew is a long-standing procurement professional with a career spanning 30 years. She is a Director of Go4Growth, a social enterprise dedicated to helping smaller organisations to be fully equipped to take part in public sector opportunities. Go4Growth is focused on removing barriers to entry and to help build sustainable growth in local economies.”

Steve Gregory, Strategic Supply Chain Manager at RTC North

Steve is a seasoned Strategic Supply Chain Development Manager, driving innovation in West Yorkshire. Formerly, he spearheaded ESIF/ERDF programs for Leeds City Region LEP, aiding 800 SMEs. Steve directed LCR LEP's Supply Chain and Manufacturing High Growth Programs, fostering manufacturing advancements. With experience at DuPont, Polestar, Cadburys, and AGFA, he led the Manufacturing Advisory Service for six years, aiding 3200+ businesses and creating 3000 jobs.

Fred Mead, Business Support Specialist at RTC North

Fred is a former MD of a number of companies having 35 years in business at senior levels. His early career was in Heavy Organic Chemicals production in Huddersfield followed by Manufacturing Engineering in Capital Machinery and Structural Steel. Latterly he has been involved in Business Support roles with the Manufacturing Advisory Service and with Green Port Growth Programme in Hull, specialising in business opportunities in the supply chains for Offshore Wind and Renewable Energy.”
