<h3>Join Ohio Voice for all things planning actions!! </h3><h3></h3><h3>We will have a panel discussion with three incredible leaders of New Voices for Reproductive Justice, Black Queer &amp; Intersectional Collective and Black Abolitionist Collective of Ohio. Our moderator will be Charlie Stewart, outreach manager of Ohio Voice. We will review how they plan actions, how to be inclusive, what safety looks like, assessing risk, transparency and collective efforts with other organizations when planning actions, lessons learned, and successes! </h3><h3></h3><h3>Join us on Zoom and hear from Alana Garrett-Ferguson of New Voices, Hana Ortiz-Sanchez of Black Abolitionist Collective of Ohio and Prince Shakur from Black Queer &amp; Intersectional Collective. </h3><h2></h2><h2>PANELISTS:</h2>

<h1>Alana Garrett-Ferguson</h1><p>An innovative advocate, justice curator, policy strategist and content creator, She has over 10 years working with youth of all ages. 7 years doing community work  Alana is passionate about justice, education and youth.</p><p>In 2018 she successfully  to create a project, titled: Working through the illness to raise mental health awareness amongst the youth and young adults. she has decided to utilize her creativity to construct kits to help youth of all struggling with trauma and understanding their mental health. She is hoping to grow that project into a bigger program for youth and young adults in the county. </p><p>Now working as the community organizer and policy associate for New Voices for Reproductive Justice, she is leading campaigns to eradicate injustices against Black women, femmes, and girls. New Voices for Reproductive Justice is a human rights organization based out of Pennsylvania, whose mission is to improve the health and well building of Black women, gemmed, and girls. Using the Reproductive Justice framework, they build leadership, fight for human rights and advocate on issues that affect us as women. </p><p>Along with her current position at New Voices, she is also a member of the NAACP Cleveland Branch, and chair of the Environment and Climate Justice committee. She also sits on the board of Women Have Options Program.  She serves on the Community Connections Board of Midtown Inc. and  the Rainbow &amp; Babies Children&#x27;s Foundation Associate Board. She is a proud graduate of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University</p>

<h1>Hana Ortiz-Sanchez </h1><p>Hana Ortiz-Sanchez is an Afro Rican woman originally from Bronx, Ny and currently residing in Columbus, Ohio. She is the founder of 614 Community Cop Watch,  co founder of BACO (Black Abolitionist Collective Ohio) and Co Creator of The Columbus Freedom Fund. Her passion is working in the movement to gain complete liberation for the Black community and speak up with the oppressed to demand justice for those whom have lost their lives by the hands of this system of white supremacy. </p><p>She believes Knowledge of Self; Unity and Consistency are some of the key avenues to gaining Black Liberation. Hana is an Abolitionist and a Revolutionary, she feels her place in the movement is to educate her community through an Abolitionist lens as it is the only true path to achieve the freedom and liberation, that our Ancestors and us as their Descendants have never received. Hana also embodies the belief that we must continue to sacrifice and fight for true justice for those whom have lost their lives to slave catchers (police) nationally and locally such as Deaunte Bell; Kwame Patrick; Henry Green; Tyre King; Jaron Thomas; Christopher Wade and Kareem Ali Nadir Jones and many more all killed by Columbus Police Officers. </p><p>Hana is not a stranger to police brutality and is currently suing the Columbus Police Department for attacking her while peacefully standing up for Black and Muslim lives. Hana is also a poet and has been writing since she was a teenager, she uses her poetry to speak on her experience as a Black woman while simultaneously educating and healing her community. Her role models include that of Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Assata Shakur, James Baldwin and of course The Black Panther Party. She lives by two famous quotes of Malcom X and Jean Henrik Clarke:</p><p><em>&quot;If you are not ready to die for it keep the word Freedom out of your vocabulary.&quot; - Malcolm X</em></p><p><em>“To be black and beautiful means nothing in this world unless we are black and powerful.” - Jean Henrik Clarke</em></p>

<h1>Prince Shakur </h1><p>Prince Shakur has written on queer culture, youth activism, prison systems/police, black representation in film, and conscious travel for Teen Vogue, AfroPunk, Daily Dot, Electric Literature, and more. He has organized around Black Lives Matter, Standing Rock, anti-gentrification, struggles at the US/Mexico border, and is a lead organizer with Black Queer and Intersectional Collective. He co-founded Two Woke Minds, a documentary and travel series, with Eli Hiller and earned the 2017 Rising Star Grant from GLAAD. He is writing his debut memoir and novel, and is represented by Elle McKenzie of Ladderbird Literary Agency.
