About this event

  • 3 days 8 hours

The design for this chair is based on an early 1900's rocker made in New York. The through mortise-and-tenon on the armrest is a classic touch that will make this project a family heirloom in your house. This class will cover steam bending and laminate bending curved parts, laying out and cutting mortise and tenon joints with hand tools and power tools, shaping curved legs and armrests with hand planes and spoke shaves, assembly and clamping, how to make a simple seat with a recycled cushion, and finishing options. Materials are included in the fee. Finishing options will be explained, but you will need to apply your own finish at home.

Lunch provided.
