About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Dear Indie Authors,

We are excited to invite you to a free online workshop featuring the accomplished director, author and artist, Jason Cannon.

Drawing from his book, This Above All: How to Live an Artistic Life, Jason will guide us through an exploration of the creative spirit that lives within each of us.

But be prepared for some tough love. Learn why:

  • Art is essential
  • Art is violent
  • Truth is not a feeling
  • Practice requires mistakes
  • Why guitarists make funny faces
  • And this above all: art is releasing ego

What to Expect

  • Brief introductions
  • Jason's presentation. Have a notebook ready and be prepared to participate in exercises designed to unlock your creative potential
  • Q&A with the speaker.
  • Show & Tell (time permitting) -- show us your books, tell us what you've been working on.

All welcome. An online presentation of the SoCal Indie Writers Group. Online workshops held 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 6 pm Pacific time.
