PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Delta COVID variant, we will be requiring that all attendees be vaccinated or have a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event. We will be checking proof of vaccination or test results at the door. Please be prepared to show either your vaccine card, a photo of it, or a QR code issued by the State of California. These can be obtained here: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/

We will also be requiring the wearing of masks indoors except when actively drinking a beverage.

Thank you for your understanding!

We are thrilled to be hosting our annual pre-Gatsby How-To event at a new-to-us location this year, the Alameda Naval Air Museum.

Our event will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, August 15, with a no-host cocktail hour from Stookey's Club Moderne during which attendees will have an opportunity to connect and reconnect while socializing and exploring the museum's many exhibits.

We recognize that dressing up in vintage styles can be intimidating, especially for first-timers, so at 3 pm, we will be hosting a series of short lectures and a fashion show with great tips for pulling together a stylish, comfortable, vintage-inspired ensemble and delicious picnic to allow us to enjoy the elegance and conviviality of the Art Deco Era without breaking the bank!

At 4:30 pm, we will open the vendor bazaar for shopping for vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, and picnic items... and, of course, more socializing! We are still confirming our list of vendors. If you are a vintage seller interested in vending at the event, please email ere.adsc@gmail.com for more information.

The event will conclude at 6 pm.

The museum is located in the former Air Terminal Building #77 at Alameda Point and features archival materials, photographs and stories of the war workers beginning in World War II up to the eventual closing of the base in 1997. Visitors can read historic newspapers, such as those published at Pearl Harbor, and have an opportunity to view the museum's collection, which includes artifacts, photographs, aircraft models, programs, guide books, flyers, documents, safety gear, medals, uniforms, badges, and awards. More information about the museum can be found at http://alamedanavalairmuseum.org/about/.

Free parking is available on site.
