How to BEE an Advocate for Pollinators: Training

Come join us at the Minneapolis Central Library for a fun and informative training session on how to advocate for bees and other pollinators!

Snacks (like bee-friendly chocolate) will be provided.

Why we're hosting this training:

Everyone loves bees and butterflies, and many of us know how important they are: one in every three bites of food we eat depends on pollinators! But pollinators are in great peril. Forty percent of invertebrate pollinator species face extinction in the coming decades, in large part due to toxic pesticides. The pesticides widely used in U.S. agriculture and in our own backyards threaten pollinators and other biodiversity, pollute our air and water, and harm human health. But the good news it that there are alternatives to pesticide use -- and in this training, we're going to teach you how to advocate for a pesticide-free future for people and pollinators!

What we'll cover:

  • How the pesticides widely used in U.S. agriculture, homes, and gardens are harming and killing pollinator species.
  • How alternatives to pesticide use, like organic agriculture, pollinator-friendly yards, and pesticide-free schools, can help pollinators thrive.
  • How to advocate for policies that support pollinators!
  • How to advocate for pesticide-free schools, campuses, and workplaces!
  • How to advocate for companies to take action to protect pollinators!

Who is this training for?

Anyone. Whether you're a seasoned environmental advocate or just curious about how you can make a difference, join us to learn how to BEE an ally to the pollinators all around us.
