The Chattery cultivates and fosters a community of learners and teachers through fun, affordable and accessible learning experiences throughout Chattanooga.As a nonprofit, The Chattery brings an unlimited variety of classes to our community ranging from the arts to financial planning.  We not only serve as ambassadors who bring awesome classes and workshops to Chattanooga but we’re also helping cultivate and encourage your passions.In other words, our classes are dreamt up and taught by you, a member of our community.All classes are for adults aged 18 and up unless otherwise noted.

Who are the Election Commissioners and what do they do? What does the Election Commission’s Administrator and staff do? Who decides our method of voting—machines or paper ballots? Are they secure? What about election integrity? Who are poll workers?Join Hamilton County Administrator of Elections Scott Allen and Assistant Administrator Nathan Foster as they walk through these questions and more, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how our local elections are run.This class is presented in partnership with League of Women Voters Chattanooga and The Chattery.About the speakers:Scott Allen has been Hamilton County Administrator of Elections since 2020 (State of Tennessee Certified.) He has served on State Election Committees and as Vice President of State Election Administrators Association. He has over 25 years of Election experience.Assistant Administrator of Elections, Nathan Foster has served the voters of Hamilton County for 20 years. With a strong technical background, Nathan manages the programming of voting equipment, ballot layout, and quality control to ensure accuracy and transparency throughout every election.
