How Do We Know?

Science And Faith Examined is made possible by grants from the STEAM Project and the Moore-Hufstedler Fund of Caltech.Our goal is to start conversations that explore the important questions at the intersection of science, philosophy, ethics, and religion at Caltech and beyond.We do this by creating a venue for conversation that includes a meal, a talk given by an expert speaker (typically a scientist or philosopher), and a time of discussion in groups of 8-10.

Science And Faith Examined

"How Do We Know? The Epistemology of Science & Religion"
What does it mean to know something? How does the methodology of science make it a reliable source of truth? Do science and religion intrinsically conflict? Join us as we discuss the philosophical foundations of knowledge!
The event includes dinner (free for Caltech students, faculty, and staff, $9 for others), a talk by Dr. Myron Penner who works in the area of the philsophy of religion.

Online registration ends Feb. 18 at noon.  We can only guarantee food for the first 100 people who are registered. Tickets at the door are $5 for Caltech students/staff/faculty, $12 for community members. Participation in the event includes consent that photos of the event and participants may be used on the Science And Faith Examined website and Facebook page.
