About this event

As we enter the giving season, how can we make giving more meaningful for children? As faith communities, we try to teach children to look out for the needs of others, to empathize, to share what they have, to do what they can to make the world a better place for all people. But do our kids really know that they matter to their community? Our current practices of engaging kids in community are often outdated and unevenly focused on children of means. What is the future? Come learn, explore, and share your own insights about how to provide the right foundation, help all kids find their unique path, and then get out of the way!

Join us if you are a clergy, lay person, religious educator, parent, or teacher interested in engaging children in giving practices. Leave with new ideas and tools for supporting children to contribute to a thriving community.

All faith traditions welcome.

Facilitated by Amy Neugebauer, Executive Director, The Giving Square

Hosted by The Giving Square and innoFaith

The Giving Square is raising up a new generation of philanthropists. By introducing children to a broader and deeper interpretation of what philanthropy can be, the organization validates the many ways that ALL of us can and do contribute to the world around us. In partnership with schools, faith communities, and non-profit partners, The Giving Square has engaged thousands of 7-12 year olds in experiential philanthropic programs designed to tap into children's empathy, fluid thinking and desire to make life more fair for others.

innoFaith is a multi-faith network and platform for social innovation where interfaith collaboration is fostered. We seek to inspire and enable people and communities of faith to engage in the world in innovative ways to help humanity thrive. We help faith communities contribute to solving social problems by providing resources, inspiration, and opportunities to innovate and collaborate for social impact.
