Jamboree’s third album is called Summerland, and it comes out June 28th, 2024.
Inspired partly by the unconventional Winnipeg apartment complex of the same name, two towers connected by a tropical greenhouse atrium that suspends summer indefinitely, Summerland tries its best to conjure an endless summer that's always about to end.
It's a collection of songs that should bring up suburban memories of backyard pool parties, riding your bike, staring out the window of a friend’s car, the middle third of your favourite coming-of-age movie, remembering that school starts in the fall and the party has to end eventually.
Recorded over a period of months with producer Lino D'Ottavio in his basement studio. On Summerland, Jamboree maintains the band's looseness while also feeling newly refined and focused. The album's 10 tracks find Jamboree stumbling reluctantly into maturity as songwriters and young men, becoming the band they've always wanted to be.
BETH
Beth examines the intangible elements of belonging, lust, longing and death. Their music lies in the interstices between material and ethereal, taking the mundane and exploring the macabre and dissonant landscapes that lay constantly below the surface.
