Founded in April 2016, Migration Collective is a group of dynamic and creative women based in London, each holding academic interest in and personal experiences of migration. Our unique projects, events and activities tackle the intersection of art, academia and action in order to challenge the mainstream rhetoric on migration.London Migration Film Festival has become a yearly event in London. Itsgoal is to portray the diversity, nuance and subjective experience within migration - including and beyond the refugee experience - in order to restore the dignity and humanity inherent within it.

Join us for the online finale of London Migration Film Festival 2021 with a special online screening of Hostile followed by a special Q&amp;A

Told through the stories of four participants from Black and Asian backgrounds, Hostile focuses on the impact of the evolving ‘hostile environment’ policies that target migrants. It explores how the lives of international students, members of the Windrush generation and ‘Highly-Skilled Migrants’ have been affected. Most importantly, it asks - of viewers, of the UK government - what does it mean to be British? What does it mean to be told you don’t belong? Director Sonita Gale seeks to hear these voices and inspire viewers to take action in order to create long-term change.This special online screening of Hostile will be followed by a Q&A with director Sonita Gale, experts by experience, journalists, lawyers and more.Dir: Sonita GaleLength: 93mins
