Horsepower and Heroes United in Sisterhood Retreat (Female Veterans)

Greetings, ladies.

United in Sisterhood and The PEACH Pit are co-sponsoring this year's Horsepower and Heroes United in Sisterhood Retreat.

Our Horsepower and Heroes United in Sisterhood Retreat is all inclusive three-day outdoors retreat at The PEACH Pit in Georgia for women Veterans and will have a maximum of 15 participants. This intense yet relaxing experiential weekend is for women and staffed by women. We look forward to meeting you and helping you realize your best self.

United In Sisterhood was created to support female Veterans. It was established to offer female Veterans the opportunity to share military experiences – good and bad – in a safe space with others who can relate to the special language we share, to learn from one another, to laugh and smile, to empower one another, to grow and build lasting bonds, to gain knowledge about useful resources and most importantly, to know that you are NEVER alone.

The primary goal at The PEACH Pit is to provide affordable, low cost mental health counseling to all clients. One segment of our population is Veterans. Sadly, a Department of Veterans Affairs report indicates that about 20 Veterans commit suicide daily. We want to do our part to prevent those deaths. We also want to promote the visibility (not invisibility) of our women Veterans.

Our Veterans have seen and heard things no one should see or hear. They may not reach out for help because they view seeking help as weak. United in Sisterhood's motto is "We survive by lifting each other up." The PEACH Pit's motto is “Come join us at the barn, horses helping heal your heart and mind.” Together, our organizations are here for you.

We will accept up to 100 applications and will select the recipients June 1. We'll notify recipients by June 15.
